Mt. Marami adventure

So, me and brother had a slightly impromptu schedule for this climb. We have been planning this since early this year and the recent work cancellation due to ASEAN 2017 has become the prime occasion for us to push through.

We met up with our guide - Kuya Romel  - at around 430AM at Maragondon, Cavite. There we were briefed with a few guidlines and reminders for the hike.

There are two jump-off point you can choose as your starting point: (1) Brgy. Talipusngo in Maragondon and (2) Brgy. Ramirez in Magallanes. Either way be sure to register and check with the local Baranggay authorities before getting on the trail.

No. The water is not dirty due to pollution. This is the sediments brought by the water due to the rains of the past few days before our climb.

Water is important. always pack fresh water enough for your requirements.

Pitt stop along the route to rest and register/log. The other group here is from San Pedro, Laguna. We were walking different paces but we still meet each other along the trail.

Somewhere along the way, Mt. Marami will tease you so that you stay motivated. It was a 5-hour hike for us so this was a very good motivation view

Resting and Phot-op. along the way.

Stole a snapshot from the other group that we met along the trail.

There is a final stop for rest and refreshments before heading to the summit and you'll be amused with some of the vandals in the benches.

Honestly, photos won't be enough to show you how nice the view was.

Resting before the heading back.

Make sure to bring cash of small denominations for the environmental fees. The trail is clear to follow but I really suggest that you get a local guide - support the locals as this is where they earn - and they also have the stories of the places along the way and of the mountain itself. Ultimately, they also can help you, if and when the need arises during your trip.

As a resident of Maragondon, I sincerely ask of you dear reader to always be considerate of the environment. It was rather disappointing that some of those who went up before(or in the past) leave cigarette butts, small plastic items, and other trash at or near the top, and along the way.

This is not only for Mt. Marami but with other places you visit.
