one of the, if not THE most, highlighted event on the month of May in the Philippines is the Flores de Mayo - a month-long celebration in honor of the Virgin Mary. Such an event presents itself as a great opportunity to take photographs and I was aware of it. I tried my best to document the Sagala procession that happens on the culminating day, the last Sunday of May.  These photos were taken in Maragondon, Cavite - my hometown. It was a great run and I enjoyed taking photos. Now, I'm looking forward to doing a similar thing in other events.

Borrowed time

Image
The past few weeks have been simply too demanding that I wasn't able to give more time to photography. Still, there were days when I was able to take a snapshot or two. Indeed, a way will reveal itself if you have the right amount of desire and will to pursue something - then again, that phrase was too melodramatic, don't you think?  Last weekend, there was was an opportunity for me to take photos but that will be the story for another post. In the meantime, here are more random shots. Enjoy!

This year's Visita Iglesia has got to be the longest. It spanned 3 days even though we only went to seven churches within Cavite. We stopped by 1 church on Holy Wednesday, visited 2 more churches on Maundy Thursday, and went to 5 more churches on Good Friday. It was a more laid back one but spiritual nonetheless. And since I was the designated driver, it was a challenge to take photos in a very short span of time. Then again, taking photos is not the primary goal in this activity so its all good. Oh, I almost forgot. This year is the first time we went to a place called Tierra de Maria. A little place  somewhere near DAP-Tagaytay and Picnic Grove. Its a little place where a spiritual healer does healing sessions(not sure of the term and I forgot the name of the healer, sorry).

just updating

The past weeks have just been to toxic. I wasn't able to push through with shoots nor was I able to grab opportunities for taking photos. Manila FAME International, a CITEM event, was held last March. If I had the luxury of time and brought my camera, I could have taken more shots during the event. All I have is this photo that I took from the back of the registration area. Not so great of a shot but I still want to post it. In other news, can I just show my new camera lens? It's a 28-200mm lens. I am loving it and am now in the process of mastering how to use it.

From the Baul... again

Before anything else let me greet those who want to be(and will feel good to be) greeted this month: "HAPPY VALENTINES!" For those who wish not to be greeted (such as me): Chill, it's all right, there's always next time. And if someone around you rubs Valentine's in your face, like this just smile (and probably ignore it)... Moving on. After getting sick last week, I decided to clear out more clutter from my room. Lo and behold! I found some things from college days(specifically the time when I was living in QC). I just wanted to show everyone some "drawings" from that phase of my life. Reminisce with me. These are two pages from a sketch book I had back in those days. Yes, I had a sketch book. This was done by me and one close friend of mine one night will hanging out. This one is an "artwork" I made for a friend. I replicated the design and then added a few details and gave it to her as a gift. This next one was drawn...

in my room

Happy New Year! So, if you haven't noticed yet, I have decided to make an improvement in my blog's appearance. The teddy bear is a mainstay in our house for some time. I felt like talking a photo of it with my tatay's vintage SLR (a Ricoh that I never got to use...hopefully I can get it restored some time in the future). My post today contains some of the things in my room. My subjects? the transformers' (movies) toys that I was able to collect over the years. Enjoy! feel free to comment on the photos as well =)

Nasugbu getaway

This is my first time in Nasugbu. This trip with some of my friends was a blast. Great food, great laughs. These are some of the snapshots from it. -------------------------UPDATE---------------------- I was viewing some of the shots that I took during this trip and found some which I saw in a different light. I processed them and here they are...
